By car: From central Newcastle, take the A19 northbound. Follow the signs for the Port of Tyne. The port is located on the north bank of the River Tyne, just to the east of North Shields. You can park in the Port of Tyne car park, which is located just a short walk from the terminal.
By public transportation: There is a direct train service from Newcastle Central Station to North Shields station. The journey takes about 10 minutes. From North Shields station, it is a short walk to the cruise terminal. you can also take the Metro to Northumberland Park, Percy Main or North Shields – the Port is just a 20 minute walk from Percy Main or a bus ride away from all stations. There is also a free shuttle bus that runs from the International Passenger Terminal to Bewick Street opposite Newcastle Central Station.
By taxi: Taxis are available from all major hotels and train stations in Newcastle. The journey from central Newcastle to the port takes about 20 minutes.
